"It Only Takes 5" to Receive $12,100.

100 Women Who Care’s Impact Award

On Tuesday October 7, 100 Women Who Care - Chelsea Area met at the Chelsea Depot to socialize and then hear from three local nonprofit organizations. All three presentations were compelling, and after the vote, It Only Takes 5 received the Impact Award of $12,100.

Sue Jacobs explained that It Only Takes 5 is a small charity founded in Chelsea that encourages its members (currently over 1000) to give five dollars to meet the needs of local families encountering unforeseen difficulties. Sue noted that It Only Takes 5 pays out 100% of the funds raised.

"Receiving this Impact Award will make a huge impact on those in the Chelsea Area, and

I'm excited to report back the difference this will make in the community."

The other nonprofit presenters were the Stockbridge Area Education Foundation and the

Legacy Land Conservancy.

Our 16th Impact Award brings donations to all nonprofits since our giving circle was formed to a grand total of $206,800 including match gifts! That's the power of 100+ women!

The goal of this giving circle is two-fold: To financially support nonprofit organizations and

provide a forum where their mission story can be told. Nonprofits must support Chelsea,

Dexter, Stockbridge, Manchester, Grass Lake and surrounding communities. Members commit to donate $100 at each of three yearly meetings. You can learn more at
